About this asset

This contemporary SketchUp armchair features a blue velvet upholstered seat set within a sculptural gold-finished wire frame base. Defined by its iconic sculptural silhouette, this lounge chair features a continuous, curved wire frame finished in a metallic gold tone. The intricate vertical wire structure supports a plush, rounded seat and a low-profile backrest, both upholstered in a deep, vibrant blue velvet. The design creates a striking contrast between the delicate, airy metal base and the soft, tactile fabric cushions, offering a blend of transparency and comfort. This piece maintains a balanced, mid-century inspired aesthetic suitable for high-end interiors requiring a refined accent piece with a distinct architectural presence.

The download is a 7.6 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this component is structured for seamless integration into interior scenes. Users should place the chair using the base origin to ensure alignment with floor planes. Due to the complex geometry of the wire frame, it is recommended to keep the object on a dedicated layer to manage viewport performance. Apply custom materials to the velvet surfaces to match specific project colour palettes and adjust the metallic finish of the wire frame to match other hardware within the space.

This armchair is an ideal choice for residential lounge areas, luxury hotel suites, or sophisticated office breakout spaces. It pairs effectively with minimalist coffee tables or as a standalone statement piece in a reading nook. Designers frequently search for this type of wire-frame seating when looking to add a touch of classic mid-century elegance to contemporary room layouts. It complements both light, neutral backgrounds and darker, moodier interior schemes, providing a versatile option for adding texture and visual interest to any project.
