About this asset

This contemporary 3ds Max bookshelf features four tiers of black wood shelving supported by distinctive arched structural elements. This sculptural bookshelf comprises four horizontal shelves finished in a deep black wood tone. The unit is defined by its architectural supports, which alternate between solid cylindrical pedestals, curved vertical arches, and rectangular blocks. This interplay of voids and solids creates a rhythmic, open-shelf aesthetic suitable for displaying books and decorative objects. The set includes a curated collection of accessories, such as a classical-style bust, a textured bowl, and various hardback books, which provide a realistic sense of scale and materiality to the overall composition of the display unit.

The download is a 199 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

In 3ds Max, this model is organised into logical layers to facilitate easy management of the shelf structure versus the decorative accessories. Users should check the pivot points to ensure standard placement against walls or as a room divider. The materials are applied using standard mapping, allowing for quick adjustments to the wood grain or reflection settings to suit specific scene lighting. The geometry is clean, ensuring efficient viewport navigation while maintaining high visual fidelity in final rendered outputs.

Ideal for sophisticated living rooms, home offices, or high-end retail showrooms, this bookshelf serves as a focal point for interior styling. It pairs well with minimalist or contemporary furniture arrangements where a balance of storage and display is required. Designers often search for sculptural shelving units to add depth to a space without overwhelming the floor plan. It is highly effective in residential projects or executive suites where a refined, curated look is desired to house literature and decorative art pieces.
