About this asset

This colonial-style armchair 3ds Max model features a dark wood frame with turned legs and a woven rattan backrest with a cushion. Defined by its distinct colonial influence, this armchair showcases a high-gloss dark wood finish on its structured frame. The front legs are intricately turned, mirroring the decorative finials at the armrests. A prominent feature is the open-weave rattan backrest, which provides a textural contrast to the smooth timber. The seat is fitted with a clean white upholstered cushion, accompanied by a matching square throw pillow for added comfort. The design balances traditional craftsmanship with a formal aesthetic, making it a standout piece for curated interiors requiring a touch of historical character.

When integrating this model into 3ds Max, ensure the pivot point is set to the base of the legs for accurate placement on floor surfaces. The geometry is clean, allowing for easy material adjustments or texture mapping if custom fabrics are required for specific project palettes. Use standard lighting setups to highlight the contrast between the dark timber and the light rattan, ensuring that shadows are correctly calculated to define the turned leg details within the final render.

This armchair is well-suited for high-end residential living rooms, study areas, or boutique hotel lobbies. Its classic silhouette pairs effectively with dark timber side tables or traditional rugs, fitting seamlessly into colonial, transitional, or eclectic design schemes. Professionals searching for statement seating with a historical or heritage aesthetic will find this asset useful for visualising formal lounge areas. It works particularly well in projects where a balance between ornate woodwork and natural materials is necessary to ground the overall interior design.
