About this asset

This circular grey shaggy pile area rug, modelled for 3ds Max, features a dense, textured surface suitable for residential or hotel interiors. This circular area rug exhibits a high-pile shaggy texture that creates a soft, tactile aesthetic. The surface is composed of long, irregular fibres that suggest a plush, high-density construction, finished in a neutral mid-grey tone. The perimeter features a clean, flat-edged border that maintains the circular geometry of the piece. Its proportions are balanced for use as an accent rug in lounge areas or bedrooms, providing a layer of visual warmth and softness to interior floor surfaces. The design avoids complex patterns, relying instead on the depth and shadow of the pile.

The download is a 3.7 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

Within 3ds Max, this model is managed as a single geometry object with a dedicated material slot for the pile texture. Users should ensure the object is placed at floor level and check that the surface normals are correctly oriented to avoid rendering artifacts. For optimal visual results, adjust the displacement or hair modifiers to suit the desired level of detail and scale. The model is lightweight, allowing for easy placement within larger architectural scenes without significantly impacting viewport performance or rendering times.

This rug is an essential soft furnishing for residential living rooms, master bedrooms, and nursery spaces. It complements contemporary furniture arrangements, such as placing it beneath a round coffee table or as a central accent in a seating group. In hospitality design, it works effectively in boutique hotel guest rooms or quiet reading nooks. Professionals searching for floor coverings, accent rugs, or textured soft furnishings will find this asset useful for adding comfort and domestic character to interior visualisations.
