Black Wood and Woven Cord Wishbone Dining Chair

This 3ds Max dining chair features a classic wishbone-style silhouette with a black timber frame and a natural woven cord seat. The chair exhibits a distinct sculptural form defined by its Y-shaped backrest, which seamlessly merges into the steam-bent, semi-circular armrest. Constructed from solid timber finished in a matte black lacquer, the frame provides a stark contrast to the organic, textured appearance of the woven paper cord seat. The proportions are balanced, featuring four tapered legs braced by H-stretchers for structural integrity. This piece is a quintessential example of mid-century Scandinavian design, prioritising ergonomic support through its curved back and lightweight, airy aesthetic that remains visually unobtrusive in both compact and expansive dining environments.

The download is a 17.5 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When using this model in 3ds Max, ensure the object pivot is aligned to the floor plane for efficient placement. The geometry is clean, allowing for easy material assignment to the frame and seat components. Users should apply a subtle wood grain map to the black timber parts to enhance realism under close-up lighting. As this is a single asset, it can be easily instanced throughout a scene to populate dining tables or office meeting areas without significantly impacting viewport performance or render times.
