About this asset

This contemporary hanging egg chair 3ds Max model features a black wicker shell suspended by a metal chain with a plush cream cushion. Defined by its iconic oval silhouette, this hanging chair features a lightweight, open-weave black wicker frame that provides both structural integrity and a refined aesthetic. The deep, egg-shaped basket is fitted with a soft, tufted cream-coloured fabric cushion that follows the internal contours for comfort. The entire assembly is designed to hang from a single overhead point, supported by a durable black metal chain. The contrast between the dark, geometric lattice of the basket and the light, upholstered seating creates a balanced visual presence suitable for various interior and exterior environments.

The download is a 7.2 MB compressed archive containing the native 3ds Max (.max) model, set up with Corona materials. Open it in 3ds Max with Corona installed; for other programs, export to FBX or OBJ from 3ds Max first.

When working in 3ds Max, ensure the pivot point is correctly aligned at the top of the chain for easy rotation and placement within your scene. The wicker weave is modelled with high-definition geometry, so consider using instance copies if populating a large terrace or lounge area to maintain performance. Materials are mapped to separate sub-objects, allowing for quick adjustments to the cushion fabric or frame finish through the material editor. Use a simple point light source to simulate natural hanging shadows.

Ideal for residential sunrooms, covered patios, and boutique hotel balconies, this hanging chair adds a relaxed, inviting focal point to any space. It pairs effectively with natural timber decking, stone flooring, or minimalist concrete surfaces. Professionals often search for this asset when designing leisure zones, reading nooks, or bohemian-inspired lounge areas. Whether integrated into a high-end coastal project or a modern apartment interior, the piece provides a versatile solution for elevated, informal seating requirements in both indoor and outdoor architectural visualisations.
