About this asset

This parametric baffle ceiling in SketchUp features a dynamic wave-like gold metal structure for high-end interior installations. This architectural ceiling system is defined by a rhythmic, undulating arrangement of vertical metal baffles. The design creates a sophisticated three-dimensional wave pattern across the ceiling plane, utilising the reflective quality of the gold finish to manipulate light and shadow. The structure consists of numerous individual linear elements suspended in a precise, non-uniform vertical grid, allowing for a fluid, organic form that contrasts with standard rectilinear ceiling layouts. The density and varying heights of the baffles establish a strong sense of depth, making it a primary focal point for interior spaces.

The download is a 707 KB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

Users should manage the geometry on a dedicated layer to maintain viewport performance, especially in larger scenes. Applying materials involves standard texture mapping, though the metallic finish will benefit from high-quality light reflection settings in render engines to accurately capture the intended aesthetic of the gold surfaces during final visualisation.

Ideal for premium commercial environments, this baffle ceiling system is well-suited for luxury hotel lobbies, high-end retail showrooms, and modern corporate reception areas. It serves as an effective acoustic and aesthetic solution, pairing effectively with recessed downlights or concealed perimeter lighting to enhance its complex geometry. Professionals searching for feature ceilings, parametric architectural elements, or decorative metal cladding will find this model useful for creating visual interest in large-scale interior design projects where a sculptural ceiling element is required.
