About this asset

This Oriental natural wood folding screen partition for SketchUp features six intricate panels with traditional landscape art. This six-panel folding screen is crafted from natural wood, featuring a traditional oriental aesthetic. Each panel is framed with ornate, laser-cut fretwork detailing at the top and bottom, showcasing symmetrical geometric motifs. The central section of every panel contains a rectangular insert depicting detailed traditional landscape paintings in a muted, warm palette. The structure is designed to stand independently with small, stable feet at the base of each vertical frame, allowing for flexible positioning in a space. The wood grain is visible throughout, providing a warm, tactile quality to the overall assembly.

The download is a 16.5 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model holding 6 separate objects. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is best utilised as a dynamic component or a nested group, allowing for easy adjustment of the individual panel angles to suit specific floor plans. Users should ensure the model is placed on a dedicated layer for easy toggling during the design process. If rendering, apply a subtle bump map to the wood textures to enhance the realism of the fretwork, while keeping the landscape panels as simple diffuse textures to maintain high performance in complex scenes.

This folding screen is ideal for creating visual separation in open-plan living areas, luxury hotel suites, or boutique retail spaces requiring a touch of cultural elegance. It pairs well with minimalist or traditional furniture, serving as a focal point or a soft divider in tea rooms and quiet reading nooks. Designers often search for this type of asset when looking to add warmth, texture, and a sense of privacy to interiors without the need for permanent wall construction or heavy structural elements.
