Neoclassical White Plaster Roman Column

This Neoclassical white plaster Roman column for SketchUp features a fluted shaft and detailed capital for architectural use. This single Roman column is rendered in a clean white plaster finish, embodying neoclassical design principles. The model features a slender, vertically fluted shaft that terminates in a decorative Ionic-style capital with volutes. A simple, square abacus sits atop the capital, while the base is comprised of a circular torus profile resting on a square plinth. The proportions are balanced, reflecting traditional order and symmetry. This asset is presented as a singular, clean element, ensuring ease of integration into architectural visualisations where classical ornamentation is required to define space or structure.

The download is a 2.1 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

When working in SketchUp, import this model as a component to maintain file efficiency. Use the scale tool to adjust the height relative to your ceiling or architrave requirements, ensuring the fluting remains proportional. The white plaster texture is applied as a basic material, which can be easily swapped for stone or marble textures if needed. Place the column on a dedicated layer for easy toggling during the design process, especially when managing complex interior scenes or external facade elevations.

This column is ideal for high-end residential interiors, hotel lobbies, or retail showrooms that employ a neoclassical or traditional aesthetic. It serves as an excellent decorative element to flank doorways, define alcoves, or support non-structural ceiling features. Professionals looking for classical architectural elements will find this asset useful for adding depth and period-accurate detail to renovation projects or formal dining room designs. It pairs well with wainscoting, ornate cornices, and marble flooring to complete a historically inspired interior scheme.
