About this asset

This modern floating stair SketchUp model features timber treads suspended by tension cables, ideal for minimalist interiors. This floating staircase design features solid timber treads that create a clean, linear profile, supported by a white structural stringer. The assembly is visually lightened by a series of vertical tension cables that anchor the treads from above, acting as a minimalist balustrade. The design emphasises horizontal lines, with each tread showing a warm wood grain finish. The structure is configured as a straight flight, culminating in a wider landing tread at the base, providing a balanced, open-concept aesthetic suitable for contemporary architectural projects requiring minimal visual obstruction.

The download is a 1.8 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is structured as a group or component, allowing for easy placement and alignment within your floor plan. The timber and metal elements are mapped with clear material tags, enabling quick texture replacement or colour adjustment to match specific project finishes. Ensure your model axes are correctly aligned to the floor level before snapping the base landing into position. If adjusting the run, use the native scaling tools cautiously to maintain the integrity of the cable spacing.
