About this asset

This contemporary black steel folding door for SketchUp features an elegant arched top and multi-pane glass configuration. This architectural folding door assembly is constructed from slender black steel frames, featuring a distinctive arched top profile on each panel. The design incorporates large, clean glass panes divided into a grid pattern, with solid, framed base panels providing a grounded aesthetic. The assembly consists of four vertical panels, designed to fold and stack neatly to the side, allowing for flexible spatial division. The proportions are balanced, offering a refined, industrial-inspired look that maintains transparency between interior zones while providing a clear physical boundary when closed.

The download is a 88.4 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

Within SketchUp, this door is managed as a component, allowing for easy integration into wall openings. Users should ensure the door frame is aligned with the wall thickness and the floor plane for accurate placement. The geometry is clean, permitting the application of specific material textures to the steel frame or glass panes if custom finishes are required. Proper layering is recommended to toggle the door between open and closed states, facilitating quick iterations during design development and visual presentation stages.

Ideal for high-end residential renovations, this folding door works effectively as a room divider between living and dining areas or as a stylish office partition. It complements contemporary, industrial, or transitional interior design schemes. Professionals often search for this asset when specifying internal glazing systems that require both aesthetic character and spatial versatility. It pairs well with parquet flooring and minimalist wall treatments, serving as a focal point in open-plan layouts where light flow and privacy need to be carefully balanced.
