Contemporary Black Metal and Rattan Folding Partition Scene

This contemporary folding partition scene for SketchUp features a three-panel black metal frame with woven rattan infill. This three-panel folding screen is constructed from a slender, black-finished metal tubular frame. Each panel contains a central insert of tightly woven natural-toned rattan, providing a semi-transparent texture that allows light filtration while maintaining visual separation. The screen is presented as a complete scene, accompanied by two distinct indoor potted plants: a low, broad-leaf philodendron in a terracotta pot and a taller, slender-stemmed plant in a black vessel supported by a light wood stand. The composition balances industrial metal elements with organic textures and lush greenery for a refined look.

The download is a 20.9 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

Within SketchUp, this model is organised as a grouped component, allowing for easy placement and rotation of the folding panels. Users can adjust the hinge angles to suit specific floor plans or fold the screen entirely for storage. The materials are applied as standard textures, which are easily swapped or scaled through the materials tab. For high-quality renders, ensure the plant proxies are correctly mapped and consider adding a subtle warm light source behind the screen to highlight the rattan's translucency.

This partition is ideal for residential living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, or modern office breakout areas where flexible spatial division is required. It works well for creating semi-private reading nooks or screening off dining areas in open-plan layouts. Designers often search for this type of asset when looking to add warmth and organic texture to minimalist or contemporary interiors. It pairs effectively with mid-century modern furniture, soft textile rugs, and natural light sources to create a balanced, inviting atmosphere in any project.
