1.5 millimeters of pre-patinated zinc, folded once along a soft radius instead of snapped on a sharp brake. It catches the morning light off the lake in a way that makes the whole roof edge look completely quiet. Ten years on, the standing seams are still dead straight and the surface has settled into that chalky, velvet grey. Pure pleasure seeing a detail hold up exactly as it was drawn.

Getting that soft curve right in a render is always hell because razor-sharp CG edges completely butcher how zinc diffuses a grazing highlight. Beautiful to see it holding that quiet line in the wild.
