Had an optimization script chew through eighty sill depths on a brick envelope near Delfzijl just to hit solar cutoff without breaking the insulation line. The client still thinks we sketched that reveal depth by eye on day one.
Dead right, and tucking the frame entirely behind the outer masonry leaf is usually the only reason you don't end up bolting on an ugly clip-on louver six months post-occupancy.
That courtyard reveal really does carry the whole elevation. Did you manage to keep the interior jamb flush with all that depth, or did the insulation package force a step somewhere?
