Urban Architecture Background Image Collection

This comprehensive collection of 100 high-resolution architectural backgrounds for 3ds Max provides diverse urban cityscapes. This library features a wide variety of high-resolution photographic backgrounds capturing urban environments. The collection includes detailed shots of residential apartment blocks, dense city skylines at both day and dusk, historic timber-framed facades, and modern glass-and-steel office structures. Each image is composed with architectural framing in mind, offering clear horizon lines and varied perspectives suitable for backdrop placement. The selection provides a range of material textures including weathered brick, exposed concrete, and glazing, ensuring that visualisers can find a suitable context for almost any project type, from suburban housing to high-density commercial developments.

The download is a 261 MB compressed archive with the textures and a ready-made 3ds Max (.max) material library, so the maps arrive already assigned to materials you can drag onto your own geometry.

These images are designed to be applied as environmental maps or background planes within 3ds Max. Professionals should place these assets on a plane positioned behind the primary 3D geometry, ensuring the camera view matches the perspective of the chosen background. Use an unlit material or an emission map to maintain the original brightness and colour balance of the photography. For optimal results, adjust the exposure and white balance of the render to integrate the 3D scene with the background lighting.
