About this asset

This weathered dark brown timber PBR material features authentic plank textures for realistic 3D architectural visualisations. This PBR material set captures the rugged aesthetic of weathered, dark-toned wooden planks. The surface displays a complex grain pattern with realistic signs of wear, including subtle scratches, fine cracks, and natural wood texture variations. The colour palette leans into deep charcoal and rich brown tones, suggesting an aged or reclaimed timber appearance. The planks are arranged in a classic linear configuration, providing a grounded, organic feel to any surface. With its high-fidelity surface detail, the material effectively communicates the tactile quality of aged wood, suitable for detailed close-up renders and expansive floor or wall applications.

The download is a 63.6 MB compressed archive with the texture set at 2K with colour, normal, roughness, ambient occlusion and displacement maps, ready for any metal/roughness PBR workflow in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp, Unreal Engine or D5.

To implement this material, load the provided maps into your render engine's shader node setup. Use the albedo map for colour, while the roughness and normal maps define the surface's characteristic sheen and depth. The displacement map is essential for achieving the physical relief of the plank edges and grain. Ensure the texture is tiled at a 2.00 by 2.00-metre scale to maintain the intended proportions of the scanned timber boards across your geometry.

Ideal for rustic, industrial, or farmhouse interior designs, this material is well-suited for high-end residential flooring, hospitality lobby features, or retail display backdrops. It pairs effectively with raw steel elements, concrete, or soft linen furnishings to balance its weathered aesthetic. Professionals should look for this asset when needing aged timber textures that require a high degree of realism for architectural visualisation projects, particularly when aiming for a lived-in, character-rich atmosphere in living rooms, bedrooms, or boutique commercial spaces.
