About this asset

This unfinished office HDRI environment map provides soft morning interior lighting for architectural visualisations in HDR format. This equirectangular environment map captures the raw, unrefined aesthetic of an unfinished interior space. The scene features bare plaster walls, exposed concrete flooring, and a single glass-paneled door leading to an exterior balcony. The lighting is characterised by soft, diffuse morning light entering through the window, creating gentle shadows and subtle highlights across the blank surfaces. The neutral, minimalist palette provides a clean slate, free from distracting furniture or fixtures, making it ideal for testing material swatches or lighting setups in a realistic, non-staged architectural context.

The download is a 5.6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into the environment slot of your rendering engine's world settings. It is designed to provide both global illumination and background reflections for your 3D scenes. Adjust the exposure and rotation parameters to align the light source with your project’s primary windows or focal points. Because the map offers a neutral, diffuse lighting quality, it works effectively as a base for interior renders that require realistic, natural light fall-off without complex light-rig configurations.

This asset is well-suited for professional architectural visualisation projects, particularly during the early stages of design development or when presenting unadorned, minimalist spaces. It is effective for residential or commercial office interiors where a clean, construction-phase look is desired. Professionals often use this type of environment map to achieve natural-looking interior lighting in projects that require a neutral, high-quality light source. It pairs seamlessly with modern, contemporary, or industrial interior scenes that benefit from realistic natural light and soft shadows.
