About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic twilight sunset lighting for architectural exterior scene rendering. The environment map captures a low-contrast twilight scene set within a suburban residential complex. The perspective features a wide, brick-paved driveway surrounded by low-rise brick buildings and garages. The atmosphere is defined by a soft evening glow on the horizon, transitioning into a cool, partly cloudy sky. The lighting is diffuse and ambient, typical of the golden hour fading into dusk, with subtle artificial warm light emanating from exterior building fixtures. The composition provides a neutral, realistic backdrop suitable for placing residential models into a believable, lived-in context without overwhelming the primary subject.

The download is a 6.3 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this HDR file, load it into the environment or background slot of your chosen rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. Because the map is high-dynamic-range, it will provide both the background imagery and the primary ambient lighting for your scene. Adjust the rotation to align the horizon glow with your project's sun orientation, and modify the exposure settings to balance the soft, cool ambient light against any additional artificial light sources you place within your architectural model.

This environment is ideal for exterior visualisations of residential projects, particularly those requiring a calm, evening mood. It works well for showcasing house designs, townhouse developments, or garage configurations in a domestic setting. Professionals can use this to quickly establish realistic lighting and reflections for exterior renders during the concept or final presentation stages. The neutral, low-contrast nature of the lighting makes it versatile for various architectural styles, from traditional brick homes to modern residential units, ensuring a cohesive look for your digital portfolio.
