About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map features a rocky Table Mountain plateau at golden hour, providing realistic natural lighting. The environment map captures a high-dynamic-range panoramic view of a rugged, elevated plateau. The foreground is defined by weathered, textured grey stone outcrops interspersed with low-lying mountain vegetation. The perspective looks out over a vast, open landscape towards a distant horizon line, all illuminated by the warm, directional light of a low-hanging sun. The sky is a clear, deep blue transitioning to soft golden tones near the sun, with scattered, light cloud formations that add depth and character to the scene's overall lighting profile and atmosphere.

The download is a 6.1 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this environment map, load the.hdr file into the background or environment slot of your rendering engine. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source for consistent shadows. Because this is a high-dynamic-range image, it will provide accurate light intensity and colour temperature, effectively illuminating your 3D geometry with natural, ambient light without requiring additional artificial light sources for exterior shots.

This HDRI is ideal for architectural visualisations requiring a natural, high-altitude setting. It works well for exterior renders of residential projects, mountain retreats, or hospitality developments situated in rugged landscapes. Professionals can use this to achieve authentic soft-shadow lighting during sunset or early morning hours. It pairs effectively with scenes featuring stone cladding, natural timber, or minimalist modern structures, providing a realistic, expansive backdrop that enhances the sense of scale and connection to the surrounding environment.
