About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides a clear sunrise lighting setup over a rugged, rocky countryside landscape. Captured in a wide, open field, this 360-degree environment map features a low-angle sun position characteristic of early morning. The terrain is composed of scattered rocks, dry soil, and sparse, low-lying vegetation under a clear, expansive sky. The colour palette is dominated by warm earth tones, ranging from deep browns to lighter ochres, contrasted against a bright, pale blue horizon. The lighting is soft and directional, producing long, gentle shadows that define the texture of the ground plane while maintaining a balanced exposure across the entire spherical projection.

The download is a 6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this map, load the.hdr file into the environment slot of your rendering engine's world settings. Align the sun position with your scene's primary light source to ensure consistent shadows and highlights. Because this file provides high dynamic range data, it will automatically influence the global illumination and reflection quality of your materials. Adjust the exposure or intensity values within your software to match the desired brightness levels for your specific project requirements and camera settings.

This environment is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations, particularly for projects located in semi-arid or rural settings. It pairs effectively with modern residential designs that feature extensive glazing, as the warm sunrise light creates inviting reflections and natural highlights. Use this map during the early stages of concept rendering to establish a calm, serene mood, or in final production for high-quality daylight exterior shots. It is a reliable choice for any scene requiring soft, naturalistic morning sun angles without complex custom lighting setups.
