About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides clear morning lighting over a dry, rocky terrain in a high-dynamic-range format. The environment map captures a panoramic view of a rugged, arid landscape characterized by scattered rock formations and dry, sparse vegetation. The lighting reflects a clear morning sky with a bright, high-contrast sun position, casting long, soft shadows across the uneven ground. A faint haze is visible along the distant horizon, adding depth to the scene. The colour palette is dominated by earthy browns, ochres, and a deep, crisp blue sky, providing a naturalistic and balanced lighting solution for architectural and landscape visualisations requiring broad, open-air illumination.

The download is a 5.6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this HDR file, load it into the environment slot of your rendering engine's physical sky or dome light system. Adjust the rotation to align the sun with your project's primary light source and modify the exposure to suit the intensity of your scene. The equirectangular projection ensures seamless mapping for global illumination and reflection probes, enabling realistic light bounces on exterior materials and glazing while providing a consistent background for wide-angle camera views.

This HDRI is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations of rural, desert, or rugged landscape projects. It serves as a reliable lighting environment for residential, hospitality, or infrastructure developments where a natural, sun-drenched atmosphere is required. Professionals often pair this asset with arid-climate site models or modern minimalist structures to create sharp, dramatic contrasts. Use this map when searching for high-contrast morning lighting, dry terrain backgrounds, or realistic outdoor light environments for large-scale site masterplanning and landscape design presentations.
