About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides a clear sunrise sky and natural lighting for 3D rendering and scene integration. Captured at a high vantage point, this environment map features a wide-angle perspective of a rugged, arid landscape at sunrise. The foreground is defined by dry, golden grasses and exposed stone outcrops, punctuated by sparse, low-lying shrubs. The horizon reveals rolling hills fading into a soft, hazy distance, while the sun sits low in a clear, gradient sky. This composition provides excellent directional light, casting long, soft shadows and creating a warm, natural colour palette suitable for architectural visualisations that require realistic, high-latitude outdoor illumination and authentic, unclipped light data.

The download is a 5.8 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this.hdr file into the environment slot of your preferred 3D rendering engine to serve as the primary light source and background. Ensure the mapping type is set to spherical or equirectangular to maintain correct projection. For optimal results, adjust the exposure and rotation to align the sun position with your scene's desired shadow direction. This file provides high-dynamic-range data, allowing for physical light intensity adjustments without losing detail in the highlight or shadow regions of the rendered frame.

This environment map is ideal for exterior architectural renders, landscaping visualisations, and site-context studies where a natural, rural setting is required. It works effectively for projects located in open, mountainous, or arid regions, providing a consistent lighting solution for daylight scenes. Professionals often use such assets to establish accurate light bounces and reflections on building facades or site-specific vegetation. It pairs well with high-detail 3D models of residential or hospitality structures, helping to anchor them within a believable, expansive natural landscape.
