Small Harbour Sunset HDRI Environment Map

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic sunset lighting for 3D scenes, featuring a calm harbour and pier. The environment map captures a serene sunset over a small harbour, characterized by soft golden light and a clear, expansive sky. The composition features a prominent stone-filled gabion jetty that curves into the frame, providing strong foreground interest. To the left, a small boat rests on the calm water, while the background consists of gentle, dry-grass hills. The lighting is low-contrast and warm, creating a natural rim light effect on objects placed within the scene. It is a high-dynamic-range image designed for accurate reflection and illumination of exterior architectural visualizations.

The download is a 5.8 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this.hdr file into the environment or background slot of your 3D rendering software. Ensure the mapping is set to spherical or equirectangular to maintain correct orientation. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source. Because this map contains high-dynamic-range data, it will automatically influence the global illumination, secondary bounces, and specular reflections on reflective surfaces like glass or water, providing a cohesive lighting environment without requiring additional light sources.

This HDRI is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations requiring a peaceful, late-afternoon atmosphere. It works well for waterfront residential projects, holiday villas, or hospitality developments located near lakes or coastal areas. Professionals can use this to achieve realistic lighting for exterior shots, ensuring that materials like water, metal, and glass interact correctly with the sky. It is particularly effective for projects where a natural, calm, and inviting mood is necessary to showcase building facades or outdoor living spaces during the golden hour.
