Roof Garden HDRI Environment Map

This roof garden HDRI environment map provides realistic, soft daylight for architectural visualisations in any 3D renderer. The environment map captures a contemporary elevated garden featuring a paved pedestrian walkway flanked by dense, lush vegetation and small trees. Above, a sweeping structural metal trellis defines the space, creating a semi-enclosed canopy effect. The lighting is soft and diffuse, characteristic of a partly cloudy afternoon, which minimises harsh shadows and provides natural, balanced illumination for 3D scenes. The composition includes a clear view of the pathway leading into the greenery, making it ideal for scenes requiring a sense of scale and natural enclosure within an urban environment.

The download is a 6.6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Professionals can load this equirectangular HDR file directly into the environment slot of any standard rendering engine. It functions as both the background plate and the primary light source, providing high-dynamic-range lighting data that accurately influences scene reflections and global illumination. Adjusting the rotation within the software allows the user to align the soft sun position with the project's specific orientation, ensuring consistent shadows and highlights across all materials and geometry in the scene.

This asset is suited for exterior architectural visualisations of high-density residential developments, mixed-use commercial projects, and landscape design proposals. It works effectively for eye-level shots where the integration of greenery and modern structural elements is required. Designers often use this environment when seeking a neutral, natural light quality that complements glass-heavy building facades or timber cladding. It is a versatile choice for projects aiming to convey a sense of calm, biophilic design within an urban context, suitable for both daylight and dusk-transition renders.
