River Alcove HDRI Environment Map

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic midday outdoor lighting with a clear sky for 3D scene illumination. The environment map captures a sunny riverside alcove featuring a grassy clearing surrounded by dense, dried reeds and bare-branched trees. A simple wooden frame structure sits within the space, casting distinct, sharp shadows across the ground plane. The composition includes a natural archway formed by vegetation, creating a rustic, organic backdrop. The lighting conditions are bright and direct, typical of a cloudless afternoon, providing high-contrast illumination suitable for architectural renders that require a natural, open-air aesthetic. The equirectangular projection ensures seamless 360-degree coverage for global illumination and reflection mapping in any professional rendering engine.

The download is a 7 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this.hdr file directly into the environment or world lighting slot of your preferred renderer. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your architectural model's primary light requirements. Because the file contains high dynamic range data, you can dial in the exposure intensity to balance the scene's highlights and shadows. This asset is best used as the primary light source to achieve consistent, physically accurate ambient lighting, reflections, and soft shadows on your 3D geometry without needing manual light placement.
