About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides a calm, clear-sky sunset lighting setup for high-fidelity 3D rendering projects. The Qwantani Sunset environment map captures a serene transition of light at the end of the day. It features a soft, warm golden glow emanating from the sun near the horizon, contrasting against a deep blue upper atmosphere. The sky is largely clear, with subtle, wispy cloud formations catching the final rays, creating a gentle gradient. This HDR file delivers a balanced exposure range, ensuring naturalistic lighting and realistic reflections for architectural visualizations. It is designed to provide consistent, high-dynamic-range illumination across a 360-degree field of view, suitable for both exterior scenes and reflective interior environments.

The download is a 4 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this environment map, load the file into the environment or background slot of your rendering engine's lighting settings. Ensure the mapping is set to spherical or equirectangular to maintain correct projection. You may need to rotate the map on the horizontal axis to align the sun's position with your scene's composition. Adjust the exposure or gamma settings within your software's environment tab to fine-tune the intensity of the light and the depth of the resulting shadows.

This HDRI is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations, particularly for projects requiring a warm, tranquil dusk atmosphere. It works effectively for residential landscape renders, hospitality developments, or urban street scenes where a natural sunset backdrop is required. Professionals often pair this with additional artificial light sources for evening renders to balance the soft natural glow. Search terms such as sunset lighting, golden hour environment, and exterior sky map will help locate this asset when preparing high-quality, realistic scene lighting for client presentations.
