About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic night lighting with a moonrise over a grassy lakeside landscape. The Qwantani Moonrise environment map captures a wide-angle, 360-degree view of a rugged, grassy hilltop overlooking a distant lake under a clear night sky. The primary light source is a bright, high-contrast moon, which casts cool-toned illumination across the foreground terrain. The scene features detailed textures of dried brush, sparse vegetation, and rocky outcrops, transitioning into the expansive horizon. This HDR file delivers a full-spectrum lighting range, ensuring that both the intense moonlight and the subtle, deep-blue tones of the starry night sky are accurately represented for high-fidelity architectural rendering and scene integration.

The download is a 6.2 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To utilize this environment map, load the.hdr file directly into the environment or background slot of your chosen rendering engine. The equirectangular projection ensures seamless mapping onto the global illumination sphere. Adjust the exposure or intensity multiplier to balance the moonlight against your scene's artificial lighting. For optimal results, rotate the map to align the moon with your primary camera angle, ensuring consistent shadow orientation and highlights on reflective surfaces within your 3D model.
