About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides a high-contrast moonlit landscape featuring a hilltop, dry grass, and a lake. Captured at a high vantage point, this environment map depicts a vast, arid landscape under a clear night sky. The foreground shows textured, dry scrubland and rocky outcroppings, leading the eye toward a distant, expansive lake. The lighting is defined by a crisp, bright moon that casts distinct shadows and cool, blue-toned highlights across the terrain. The horizon is broad and open, offering a naturalistic, panoramic backdrop suitable for wide-angle architectural exterior visualisations. The composition balances the dark, earthy tones of the terrain with the deep, starlit celestial expanse above.

The download is a 6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this environment map, load the.hdr file into the environment or background slot of your rendering engine. Adjust the exposure and rotation parameters to align the moon's position with your scene's primary light source. Because the map contains high dynamic range data, it will effectively influence the global illumination and reflections of your 3D models. Ensure your camera settings are calibrated for low-light conditions to capture the intended contrast and atmospheric mood of the night scene.

This asset is ideal for exterior visualisations requiring a serene, naturalistic night environment. It pairs well with contemporary residential projects situated in remote or rural settings, as well as hospitality designs that feature outdoor terraces or landscape lighting. Professionals searching for moonlight-driven lighting solutions, starry night backgrounds, or realistic terrain environments will find this map useful for establishing scale and atmosphere. It is particularly effective for evening-time renders where the interplay of cool moonlight and warm interior light creates a compelling visual contrast.
