About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic forest lighting with dappled sun for 3D renderings and visualizations. Captured at a scenic riverbank in the Monbachtal region, this environment map features a dense forest setting with a small stream and rock formations. The lighting is characterized by warm, natural mid-day sun filtering through the canopy, creating soft shadows and realistic highlights on the surrounding foliage and stone surfaces. The composition offers a balanced, immersive 360-degree view, ideal for establishing a natural, outdoor atmosphere. The high dynamic range ensures that highlights and shadows are well-preserved, providing a comprehensive lighting solution for any 3D scene requiring a tranquil, organic, and wooded environment.

The download is a 7.1 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Integrate this.hdr file into your rendering engine's environment or sky slot to drive global illumination and background reflections. Because it is an equirectangular map, it maps seamlessly onto a spherical dome or world background. Adjust the exposure settings within your software to match the intensity of your scene's primary lights, and use the map to generate realistic color bleeding and natural light distribution across your 3D assets, ensuring consistent shadows and highlights throughout the final render.

This environment map is well-suited for architectural visualization projects that require a natural, serene forest backdrop or outdoor lighting setup. It works effectively for landscape design, exterior residential renders, or any project needing an authentic, dappled-light effect. Professionals often use such assets to place models within a believable, high-quality natural context.
