About this asset

This equirectangular 2K HDRI environment map provides realistic afternoon lighting for exterior scenes using a sunlit meadow panorama. The environment map captures a wide, open field during the late afternoon, characterised by soft, directional sunlight and a clear, expansive sky. A dense line of trees forms a natural horizon, providing depth and varied silhouette detail. The foreground consists of lush, green meadow textures, while the mid-ground features a distant, prominent rock formation typical of the Lilienstein region. The lighting conditions are balanced, offering natural contrast with gentle, elongated shadows that are suitable for architectural visualisations requiring authentic outdoor ambient illumination and realistic reflections on building materials.

The download is a 6.6 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To utilise this HDRI in your rendering engine, load the file into the environment or background slot of your software's global illumination settings. Ensure the mapping is set to equirectangular or spherical to maintain proper alignment. You may need to rotate the map along the Z-axis to align the sun's position with your scene's desired focal point. Adjust the intensity and exposure values to match your specific exterior lighting requirements, as this map provides a solid foundation for both direct light and indirect bounce.
