About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic daylighting for architectural renders with a rural lakeside field setting. This high-dynamic-range environment map captures a wide, open grassy field adjacent to a calm lake. The scene features a natural, rural perimeter with scattered trees, wooden structures, and a distant treeline. The lighting corresponds to a bright, clear midday sky with soft, wispy clouds, providing even, ambient illumination with a natural sun position. The composition is balanced for 360-degree integration, ensuring that reflections on glass or metallic surfaces in your 3D scene appear consistent with this pastoral environment. It provides a neutral, versatile backdrop for exterior architectural visualisation projects.

The download is a 6.2 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into your rendering engine's environment or world lighting slot. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your preferred lighting angle. Because this is a high-dynamic-range image, it will serve as both the primary light source and the background plate. Ensure your camera exposure settings are calibrated to capture the full range of the sun's intensity without blowing out the highlights in the sky or losing detail in the shadowed areas of the grass.

This environment is ideal for residential exterior visualisations, landscape architecture presentations, and rural development masterplanning. It pairs effectively with timber-clad structures or modern rural dwellings where a natural, serene context is required. Professionals looking for a realistic, non-urban backdrop for their 3D models will find this useful for site-specific renderings. It is particularly suited for daylight studies and architectural competitions where a clean, open-air atmosphere helps to highlight the materiality and form of the building design without distraction from urban clutter.
