Kloppenheim 1 Pure Sky HDRI Environment Map

Kloppenheim 1 is a 2K equirectangular HDRI environment map featuring a soft, overcast sunrise with cool blue-grey tones and light. This HDRI environment map provides a high-dynamic-range spherical capture of a diffused, overcast sunrise. The visual composition consists of a soft, layered cloud blanket dominated by cool blue and grey hues, punctuated by a subtle, warm yellow glow where the sun breaks through the horizon line. The light quality is inherently soft and indirect, ideal for achieving realistic, non-directional ambient illumination. It is designed to offer clean, neutral background reflections without competing with foreground architectural elements, ensuring a balanced and professional lighting setup for both interior and exterior 3D scenes.

The download is a 3 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To implement this HDRI, load the file into the environment slot of your chosen rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. Because it is an equirectangular projection, it will automatically map to the scene's spherical sky dome. Use the rotation parameters in your renderer to align the warm sun break with your primary light source or camera angle. Adjust the exposure and white balance settings to integrate the cool ambient light with your specific scene materials.

This environment map is well-suited for architectural visualization projects requiring soft, natural lighting, particularly in residential or hospitality interiors where a calm, early-morning atmosphere is desired. It performs effectively in scenes featuring large glazing or open-plan spaces, providing realistic, muted reflections on glass and polished surfaces. Professionals searching for naturalistic, low-contrast lighting setups will find this asset useful for exterior landscaping renders or interior shots that need a subtle, diffused sky background without harsh shadows or intense direct sunlight.
