About this asset

Kloofendal 38d is a 2K equirectangular HDRI environment map featuring a bright, partly cloudy midday sky with high-contrast lighting. This HDRI captures a crisp, daytime atmosphere with a high-intensity sun position and scattered cloud cover across a deep blue sky. The lighting profile provides strong directional light, ideal for creating sharp shadows and clear highlights in architectural renders. The 2K resolution delivers sufficient detail for realistic environmental reflections and global illumination, while the balanced exposure ensures consistent light values across the dome. The sky transitions from a vibrant overhead blue to a softer, lighter horizon, providing a natural backdrop that enhances the depth and scale of exterior and interior scenes.

The download is a 5.1 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this environment map, load the file into the background or environment slot of your rendering engine. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source, and modify the intensity or exposure settings to suit your specific camera requirements. This map is designed to serve as both a global illumination source and a visible background, ensuring consistent lighting behaviour across reflective surfaces and glass elements in your architectural project.

This environment map is suitable for exterior architectural visualisations, landscape design, and hospitality projects that require a bright, realistic daylight setting. It pairs effectively with modern glass-heavy architecture, urban residential scenes, or open-air public spaces where clear, high-contrast sunlight is desired. Professionals searching for daylight sky backdrops, realistic outdoor lighting, or high-dynamic-range environment maps for rendering will find this asset useful for achieving consistent illumination in daylight-focused scenes, particularly for projects set during the middle of the day under partly cloudy conditions.
