About this asset

This industrial wooden attic HDRI environment map provides realistic midday interior lighting for 3D architectural visualisations. Captured within an expansive timber-framed attic, this environment map features a complex structural arrangement of exposed wooden rafters and beams. The space is defined by its weathered timber floorboards and contrasting whitewashed plaster walls. Several small window openings allow for natural midday light to penetrate the volume, casting distinct, high-contrast shadows across the interior. Industrial machinery elements are visible within the space, adding to the authentic, raw character of the environment. The overall composition offers a balanced mix of warm wood tones and bright, neutral surfaces, suitable for high-quality interior lighting setups.

The download is a 6.4 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this equirectangular map into your scene, load the.hdr file into your renderer's environment or dome light slot. Adjust the exposure intensity to match your scene scale and ensure the map is set to spherical projection. Since this file provides both illumination and background, you may need to rotate the horizontal offset to align the sun position with your primary interior light sources, ensuring consistent shadow orientation across your 3D assets.

This environment is ideal for architectural projects focusing on adaptive reuse, loft conversions, or industrial heritage sites. It works effectively for interior renderings requiring natural, directional light that highlights material textures like wood and plaster. Professionals can use this for concept development, pitch presentations, or final high-fidelity visualisations. It pairs well with rustic furniture, exposed brickwork, and minimalist interior design schemes, providing a convincing backdrop and light source that enhances the sense of space in attic-style residential or commercial developments.
