About this asset

This equirectangular HDRI environment map provides realistic afternoon garden lighting with dappled sunlight and a clear blue sky. This 360-degree environment map captures a lush garden setting during the afternoon, featuring mature trees that cast distinct, dappled shadows across the ground. The composition includes a clear, partly cloudy sky and natural vegetation, providing a soft, high-dynamic-range light source. The sun position creates a natural flare, offering realistic highlights and varied light intensity across the scene. It is designed to provide comprehensive, unclipped lighting data for 3D renderings, ensuring that reflections and ambient illumination remain consistent with the natural, outdoor aesthetic of a woodland or residential garden area.

The download is a 6.9 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this file, load it into your renderer's primary world environment slot. Adjust the rotation to align the sun flare with your scene's light source, ensuring the shadows cast by your 3D objects match the direction of the trees in the map. The.hdr format maintains the necessary exposure latitude for accurate global illumination, allowing for soft, realistic contact shadows and natural highlight falloff on reflective surfaces without requiring additional manual light setups.

Ideal for residential exterior visualisations, this environment map supports projects requiring a natural, serene backdrop. It pairs effectively with garden furniture, outdoor living spaces, or architectural designs where a soft, organic light quality is needed. Professionals use this asset to simulate afternoon sun conditions, providing a balanced, realistic ambient light for landscape architecture and residential design presentations. It is particularly useful for achieving accurate vegetation lighting and soft ground shadows in architectural renderings where a natural, unhurried atmosphere is essential.
