About this asset

This 2K high-dynamic-range environment map provides realistic sunset lighting and reflections for architectural visualization scenes. This 2K HDRI environment map captures the soft, diffused light of a late afternoon or early evening sky. The sphere projection features a pale, clear horizon transitioning into subtle, wispy cloud formations. With its balanced dynamic range, the map provides consistent ambient light and accurate reflections for metallic, matte, and glossy surfaces alike. It is designed to serve as the primary light source for 3D scenes, eliminating the need for complex artificial lighting rigs while ensuring that reflections remain physically grounded in the surrounding environment captured within the spherical data.

The download is a 4.9 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into your renderer's environment or world lighting slot. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's architectural orientation and tune the exposure intensity to suit your specific project requirements. Because the file contains high-dynamic-range data, it will automatically drive global illumination and shadow softness, ensuring that light bounces and specular highlights are physically consistent with the captured sky environment without requiring additional manual light sources.

Ideal for exterior architectural renders, this environment map enhances projects requiring natural, soft-light conditions, such as residential patios, hospitality terraces, or landscape designs. It pairs well with dusk or golden-hour scenes where a calm, atmospheric quality is desired. Professionals working on daylight studies or high-end visualizations will find this map effective for achieving realistic light transitions across building facades. The neutral colour palette allows it to integrate seamlessly into diverse design styles, from modern minimalist exteriors to traditional garden settings and urban developments.
