About this asset

This 2K high-dynamic-range environment map provides realistic sunset lighting and reflections for architectural visualisation. Captured at dusk, this environment map features a dramatic, cloud-filled sky with soft, directional light characteristic of a setting sun. The atmosphere presents a balanced mix of cool blue tones and warm, muted highlights, creating a naturalistic transition between the horizon and the zenith. The file includes a spherical projection that ensures seamless lighting and accurate reflections across diverse materials, from polished chrome to matte surfaces. It delivers a consistent, high-fidelity light source that defines the mood of a scene without the need for additional artificial area lights or complex solar rigs.

The download is a 6 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this map, load the file into the environment or background slot of your preferred rendering engine. Once placed, rotate the map along the horizontal axis to align the sun position with your model's desired lighting angle. Adjust the exposure or intensity settings within the render engine to fine-tune the global illumination levels. Because the file contains native high-dynamic-range data, it will automatically drive realistic highlights and soft shadows across all scene objects, ensuring cohesive visual integration.

This environment map is ideal for exterior architectural renders that require a calm, atmospheric evening setting. It pairs effectively with modern residential projects, hospitality designs, or landscape visualisations where soft, ambient light is essential for highlighting building materials. Professionals often search for this type of asset when aiming to capture the golden hour effect, providing a realistic backdrop that enhances the depth and realism of glass facades, metal cladding, or natural stone surfaces in both exterior and interior-facing views.
