Evening Sky HDRI 042 a

This 2K HDRI environment map provides realistic sunset lighting and reflections for exterior architectural visualisations. This HDRI environment map captures a cold, late-afternoon sunset over a snow-dusted, rural landscape. The image features a clear sky transitioning from deep blue overhead to a soft, warm glow at the horizon line. The terrain includes sparse tree lines and open fields, typical of a winter countryside setting. The light quality is low-contrast and cool, consistent with a winter dusk. Included are three reference spheres—chrome, neutral grey, and glossy blue—which demonstrate how the environment interacts with different material properties, providing a clear indication of the light's directionality and intensity.

The download is an 8.8 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this map, load the file into your renderer's environment or world lighting slot. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source for consistent shadows and reflections. Because this is a high-dynamic-range file, you may need to adjust the exposure settings in your post-processing or camera controls to achieve the desired brightness balance. It serves as a comprehensive light source, eliminating the need for additional artificial fill lights in most exterior scenes.

Ideal for exterior architectural renders that require a natural, atmospheric lighting condition during the golden hour or sunset. This map works well in residential projects situated in rural or semi-rural environments, providing a sense of place and time. It is particularly effective for winter-themed exterior visualisations where soft, diffused light is required. Professionals often search for realistic sky backgrounds, dusk lighting environments, or winter landscape HDRIs to enhance the mood of their exterior scenes and ensure accurate reflections on glass and metal surfaces.
