About this asset

Evening Sky HDRI 040 B is a 2K high-dynamic-range environment map providing realistic sunset lighting and reflections for 3D scenes. This 2K resolution HDRI environment map features a soft sunset sky with diffused cloud cover and a low-angle sun position. The captured light data provides balanced illumination, suitable for rendering scenes that require natural, late-afternoon atmospheric conditions. The map includes a full 360-degree panoramic capture, ensuring that reflections on metallic, matte, and glossy surfaces remain consistent with the light source. It is designed to provide comprehensive global illumination, eliminating the need for complex artificial light rigs while maintaining high levels of visual fidelity in both interior and exterior architectural visualizations.

The download is a 5.4 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To implement this HDRI, load the file into the environment or background slot of your preferred 3D rendering engine. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene geometry to ensure shadows cast by the environment map match your intended composition. Because this file contains high-dynamic-range data, it will automatically drive both diffuse global illumination and sharp specular reflections, allowing for rapid iteration during the look-development stage of your rendering workflow.

This environment map is ideal for architectural projects requiring a serene, warm sunset aesthetic. It pairs effectively with exterior residential renders, hospitality projects, or landscape visualizations where a soft, atmospheric backdrop is necessary to establish mood. Professionals working in Revit, 3ds Max, or Rhino will find it useful for quickly setting up natural lighting scenarios. It is particularly effective for scenes featuring glass or polished metal elements, where the sky reflection significantly contributes to the overall realism of the final output.
