About this asset

This 2K HDRI environment map provides realistic sunset lighting for architectural visualisations with a calm, open countryside sky. The environment map captures a low-horizon sunset over an expansive, flat agricultural field. The sky features soft, wispy clouds diffused by the fading light, creating a natural gradient from warm tones near the horizon to cooler, muted blues above. This high-dynamic-range image includes a full 360-degree field of view, ensuring consistent ambient illumination and accurate reflections for architectural models. The balance of light and shadow is captured at a resolution of 2K, providing a versatile backdrop that integrates well into both exterior and wide-angle interior scenes.

The download is a 9 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To utilise this HDRI, load the file directly into your rendering engine's environment or world lighting slot. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light source. Because the image contains high-dynamic-range data, it will automatically influence the global illumination and reflection intensities. Scale the intensity multiplier as needed to achieve the desired exposure balance for your specific project requirements, ensuring that materials and surface finishes react naturally to the captured environment.

Ideal for residential exterior visualisations and landscape design projects, this map provides a serene, natural atmosphere for dusk or late-afternoon scenes. It is particularly effective for projects set in rural or agricultural settings where an unobstructed horizon is required. Professional visualisers often pair this with ground-plane geometry to ground the model within the field environment. Use this asset for architectural competitions, planning submissions, and concept development where a realistic, non-distracting sky is necessary to highlight the building form.
