About this asset

This 2K HDRI environment map provides realistic sunset lighting and reflections for architectural visualization projects. This high-dynamic-range image captures an atmospheric sunset with a soft gradient transitioning from warm orange hues near the horizon to cool, desaturated blue tones in the upper sky. A single prominent cloud formation adds visual interest and realistic light scattering across the dome. The map is designed to provide comprehensive, 360-degree illumination, ensuring that both direct light from the sun and ambient light from the sky contribute to the final render. This configuration eliminates the need for manual light placement, offering a balanced, natural look for exterior and semi-exterior scenes.

The download is a 4.9 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this 2K map into the environment or background slot of your preferred rendering engine. Because it contains high-dynamic-range data, it will automatically drive both the scene illumination and the background reflections. Adjust the exposure and rotation settings within your software to align the sun position with your architectural focal point. This file format is compatible with most industry-standard renderers, providing consistent lighting and reflections that ensure materials behave correctly under the captured sunset conditions.

Ideal for exterior architectural renders that require a moody, golden hour aesthetic, this map is suitable for residential developments, hospitality projects, and landscape design. It works effectively for scenes where the transition from late afternoon to evening is required to highlight building facades or outdoor living spaces. Professionals typically use this asset to achieve quick, high-quality lighting setups without the complexity of manual rigs. It pairs well with warm interior light sources to create a convincing contrast between exterior and interior environments.
