About this asset

Etzwihl is a 2K equirectangular HDRI environment map providing soft, low-contrast natural lighting for realistic 3D scene rendering. Captured in a rural setting, this HDRI environment map features a calm countryside landscape during a quiet sunrise. The panoramic image captures a blend of asphalt road, lush green fields, and a distant tree line under a soft, expansive sky. The lighting profile is diffuse and neutral, avoiding harsh highlights or deep shadows, making it ideal for scenes requiring consistent, even ambient illumination. The composition offers a wide, open horizon, allowing for seamless integration into various 3D environments where a natural, serene backdrop is needed to anchor the lighting of architectural models.

The download is a 6.2 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the.hdr file directly into the environment slot of your chosen rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's primary light sources. Since this map provides high-dynamic-range data, it will automatically drive global illumination and reflections, ensuring that materials react accurately to the ambient sky tones and soft morning light without requiring additional complex light setups.

This environment map is well-suited for exterior architectural visualisations, particularly for residential projects in rural or semi-rural settings. It provides a realistic, non-intrusive backdrop for site analysis or landscape design presentations. Professionals often pair this asset with vegetation assets to enhance the sense of place. It is particularly effective for morning-time scenes where a soft, cool, and inviting atmosphere is desired, helping to ground 3D models within a believable, expansive natural context during the early stages of project development.
