About this asset

Day Sky HDRI 048 B is a 2K high-dynamic-range environment map providing realistic daylight illumination for 3D architectural scenes. This HDRI environment map features a bright, clear midday sky with soft, scattered cloud formations. The capture provides a natural light temperature and balanced exposure, ensuring consistent illumination across rendered surfaces. The inclusion of a set of test spheres—chrome, matte grey, and glossy blue—demonstrates how the map influences reflections, diffuse light, and specular highlights in a virtual space. The image is formatted as a 360-degree panoramic projection, ensuring seamless coverage for global illumination and background rendering, suitable for projects requiring clean, authentic daylight conditions without the need for complex artificial lighting setups.

The download is a 5.8 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this map, load the file into the environment slot of your rendering engine's world settings. Adjust the rotation to align the sun position with your scene's architectural orientation. Because it is a high-dynamic-range file, it will drive both the primary light intensity and the secondary reflections. Ensure your exposure settings are calibrated to capture the full range of the light source, and use the map as the sole light source to maintain accurate shadow directionality.

This environment map is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations and daylight-focused interior renders. It works well for residential or hospitality projects where a bright, airy atmosphere is required. Professionals often use this to achieve natural-looking lighting in daytime scenes without the overhead of manual light rigs. It pairs effectively with glass and metallic surfaces, providing realistic reflections that ground the model in a believable environment.
