Day Sky HDRI 040 B

Day Sky HDRI 040 B is a 2K high-dynamic-range environment map providing realistic daylight illumination for 3D architectural renders. This 2K resolution environment map captures a bright, clear midday sky with sparse, light cloud formations. The lighting profile is high-contrast, featuring a distinct, sharp sun position that casts defined shadows and creates crisp highlights on reflective surfaces. The colour temperature is neutral to cool, characteristic of a clear day, providing a balanced base for architectural visualisation. It includes a full 360-degree spherical projection, ensuring consistent light distribution and realistic environmental reflections across all viewing angles in a scene, making it suitable for both exterior wide shots and interior spaces with large glazing.

The download is a 5.5 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To implement this HDRI, load the file into the environment or world lighting slot of your preferred render engine. Ensure the mapping type is set to spherical or environment to maintain correct orientation. Adjust the intensity multiplier to suit the exposure of your scene, and use the rotation or heading parameter to align the sun position with your architectural geometry to achieve the desired shadow direction and highlight placement on materials.

Ideal for exterior architectural visualisations, this environment map provides a clean, professional backdrop for residential, hospitality, and landscape projects. It works effectively for daytime scenes where a clear, bright aesthetic is required, pairing well with modern glass facades or open-air garden designs. Professionals can use this asset during the concept or final production stages to establish natural lighting conditions without the need for complex artificial rigs. It is a reliable choice for achieving quick, high-quality results in both exterior and interior sunlight simulations.
