About this asset

This 2K HDRI environment map provides realistic midday lighting and reflections for exterior architectural visualisations. Captured in a rural setting, this HDRI environment map features a clear midday sky with scattered clouds above a grassy field and a paved road. The lighting profile is bright and natural, offering a high dynamic range that ensures accurate illumination and reflection behaviour when applied to 3D scenes. The image includes a set of reference spheres—chrome, matte white, and blue glossy—which demonstrate the light intensity, colour temperature, and reflection quality provided by the environment. The capture provides a consistent light source, eliminating the need for additional artificial light rigs in most exterior renders.

The download is a 9.3 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this file, load it into your renderer's environment or world lighting slot. Ensure your software is set to interpret the high-dynamic-range data correctly to preserve the sun's intensity. You can rotate the map to align the sun's position with your architectural model's orientation, which will automatically update the scene's primary light source, shadows, and reflections. For optimal results, use the provided reference spheres to calibrate your material shader responses to match the ambient light captured in the environment.

This environment map is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations, particularly for residential or rural development projects. It provides a clean, neutral daylight backdrop that works well for showcasing building facades, landscaping, and site planning concepts. Professionals will find this useful for daytime scenes where a natural, clear-sky aesthetic is required. It pairs effectively with grass, concrete, and asphalt textures, making it a reliable asset for site-specific renderings where the integration of the building into a natural or semi-urban context is the primary goal.
