Day Sky HDRI 021 B

Day Sky HDRI 021 B is a 2K high-dynamic-range environment map providing realistic overcast daytime lighting for architectural renders. This HDRI environment map features a neutral, overcast sky with soft, diffused light and subtle cloud formations. The capture provides a balanced lighting solution that eliminates harsh shadows, making it ideal for scenes requiring a soft, natural aesthetic. The map includes accurate reflection data, ensuring that metallic and glossy surfaces within a 3D scene interact naturally with the environment. Its high-dynamic-range format allows for precise control over exposure and light intensity, providing a consistent lighting foundation for both exterior architectural visualisations and interior scenes that rely on ambient daylighting conditions.

The download is a 5 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this environment map, load the file into the primary environment or world lighting slot of your rendering engine. Adjust the rotation to align the brightest part of the sky with the desired orientation of your scene. Because the HDRI contains both light and reflection data, no additional artificial lighting is typically required for a base setup. Use the intensity multiplier to fine-tune the exposure levels to match the scale and material properties of your 3D assets.

This environment map is suitable for professional architectural visualisation projects, particularly those featuring overcast or cooler daylight conditions. It works well for exterior building studies, landscape design previews, and interior shots where soft, indirect light is preferred. Professionals often use this type of asset to achieve uniform, realistic lighting without the complexities of multi-light rigs. It pairs effectively with neutral material palettes and is a standard tool for architects and visualisers aiming for a clean, naturalistic look in their daylight scenes.
