About this asset

This 2K HDRI environment map provides realistic overcast lighting and reflections for exterior scenes in any 3D rendering software. Captured in an open agricultural setting, this environment map features a soft, diffuse overcast sky that produces neutral lighting with minimal shadows. The 360-degree panorama encompasses flat, cultivated fields and distant horizon lines, providing a natural backdrop that integrates well with various architectural styles. The file includes essential lighting data to ensure that reflections on polished surfaces remain consistent with the ambient light. By using this map, you achieve a balanced, even illumination that is characteristic of a cloudy day, suitable for projects requiring a calm and realistic outdoor atmosphere.

The download is an 8.5 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

Load this HDRI into your renderer's environment or background slot to establish global illumination and high-quality reflections simultaneously. Because the file is calibrated for standard lighting workflows, it ensures that your scene’s materials respond predictably to the diffuse light source. Adjust the exposure and rotation parameters within your software’s environment settings to align the horizon line and intensity with your specific camera angle, ensuring the light direction remains consistent with the captured sky.

Ideal for architectural visualisations that require a neutral, overcast lighting setup, this environment map is perfectly suited for exterior residential, landscape, or rural development projects. It pairs effectively with modern or traditional building designs where harsh direct sunlight is not desired. Professionals often search for this type of asset when they need a reliable, high-dynamic-range sky to simulate a cloudy afternoon or a soft, moody atmosphere in landscape architecture, site planning, or general exterior rendering workflows.
