About this asset

This 2K high-dynamic-range environment map provides realistic midday lighting for exterior scenes, featuring a clear lakeside view. The environment map captures a serene lakeside setting during a clear midday, characterized by a bright, high-sun position and expansive water views. The foreground features a natural gravel shoreline edged by lush greenery and low-hanging tree branches. The lighting profile is neutral and balanced, providing strong directional sunlight and consistent ambient fill. This asset is supplied as a 2K spherical projection, ensuring that both the illumination and the background reflections maintain high fidelity and physical accuracy when applied to reflective surfaces, chrome, or diffuse materials within a 3D environment.

The download is a 10.5 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To integrate this environment map, load the file into the primary world or environment slot of your chosen rendering engine. The map functions as a complete lighting solution, eliminating the need for additional sun lamps or secondary light rigs. Adjust the exposure and rotation parameters within the render settings to align the sun’s position with your specific architectural composition. The high-dynamic-range data ensures that reflections on glass and metallic surfaces remain sharp and accurately represent the surrounding landscape.

This HDRI is well-suited for residential architectural visualisations, particularly for projects located near water or in open, natural landscapes. It pairs effectively with exterior scenes requiring bright, natural daylight and clear-sky visibility. Professionals often search for this type of asset when developing concept renders for waterfront villas, holiday retreats, or landscape design proposals. The neutral, high-sun quality makes it a versatile choice for both daytime exterior shots and as a backdrop for outdoor furniture or vehicle product renderings.
