About this asset

Day Environment HDRI 036 is a 2K high-dynamic-range environment map providing realistic daylight illumination for 3D renders. This 2K environment map captures a serene, overcast day in a rural setting, featuring a narrow dirt path flanked by lush green trees and a small stream. The lighting is soft and diffuse, characteristic of a cloudy day, which prevents harsh shadows and provides natural, even illumination for interior or exterior architectural scenes. The map includes accurate reflection data, as demonstrated by the chrome, matte grey, and blue reference spheres integrated into the composition. This provides a balanced, neutral base for materials and lighting in any digital scene requiring a natural, vegetation-heavy outdoor backdrop.

The download is an 11.5 MB compressed archive containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI, load the file into the environment slot of your chosen rendering engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Arnold. Adjust the rotation to align the path or lighting direction with your project's primary camera angle. Because this is a high-dynamic-range image, it will naturally drive both your scene's global illumination and the reflections on glossy surfaces without needing additional light sources. Ensure your gamma settings are correctly configured for 32-bit linear workflow to maintain the full range of light intensity.

This environment map is ideal for exterior architectural visualisations, particularly those focusing on residential, landscape, or park projects. It works effectively for scenes requiring a soft, natural daylight look without strong, direct sunlight. Professionals use this to quickly establish a realistic, high-quality outdoor context for building models, ensuring that shadows and reflections remain consistent across the entire scene. It is particularly useful when you need to place a project within a tranquil, green, and natural setting during the daytime.
