About this asset

This Victorian ballroom HDRI environment map provides realistic interior lighting and reflections for architectural visualisation projects. This 360-degree equirectangular environment map captures the interior of a formal Victorian ballroom, defined by its ornate plasterwork ceilings and elaborate gold-leaf detailing. The space features large, tall windows draped with heavy gold curtains that allow soft, diffused daylight to enter. The flooring is a classic intricate wood parquet, and the room is furnished with a white grand piano and numerous framed artworks along the perimeter walls. Central to the composition is a large chandelier, which provides a warm, ambient glow that balances the natural light coming from the window apertures.

The download is a 6.2 MB file containing a 2K equirectangular high-dynamic-range environment map, ready to load as dome or world lighting in Blender, 3ds Max, SketchUp renderers, Unreal Engine and D5.

To use this HDRI in a rendering workflow, load the file into the environment slot of your chosen engine, such as V-Ray, Corona, or Octane. It acts as the primary light source, providing both global illumination and high-dynamic-range reflections on materials within your scene. Adjust the exposure and rotation settings in your software to align the light direction with your 3D model’s window placement. This allows for seamless integration of virtual objects into the ballroom environment, ensuring consistent lighting and realistic highlights on surfaces.

Ideal for high-end residential, hotel, and heritage renovation projects, this environment map is perfectly suited for visualising grand interior spaces or event halls. It serves as an effective background for interior design presentations, particularly when showcasing luxury furniture or architectural finishes that require complex, warm lighting conditions. Professionals often search for classic ballrooms or ornate heritage interiors to create atmospheric, high-contrast renders. This asset pairs well with detailed period-style furniture, polished stone surfaces, and metallic accents that benefit from the rich, warm reflections provided by the chandelier.
